Governor Justice’s Department of Transportation (DOT) recently released an interactive map of projects they have completed or are projecting – https://wvdot.maps.arcgis.com/apps/MapSeries/index.html?appid=d53d7503f70d40379047e6e07983bb07.
As with any bureaucratic creation, it is not completely accurate. (I’ve asked DOT about some of these inaccuracies, but they have not responded yet.) But beyond that, few DOT projects appear focused on the Eastern Panhandle, and specifically Jefferson County and District 100. Jefferson County appears to be contributing far more in taxes than most other counties in West Virginia, but is often not getting much in return from our state government.
As delegate, I will work with other Eastern Panhandle delegates and senators, and the county commission to push the DOT to improve the road infrastructure in the Eastern Panhandle to not only make our area more livable, but to create an environment where businesses and people want to come and stay.
