West Virginia’s Response to the Ukraine Catastrophe

West Virginia's Response to Ukraine

The Russian invasion of Ukraine will have major impacts on the world and West Virginia. Russia as one of the largest coal and oil producers is threatening to cut production, as part of a massive plan to threaten the rest of Europe and force Europe to break its alliance with the United States. Ukraine is the greatest wheat producer in Europe and one of the major producers worldwide.

Russia’s actions will likely create a global coal shortage. Our state government should declare an energy emergency and immediately do everything possible, including defying federal authorities and any opposition by the courts, to increase coal production to the maximum amount possible. The state government should coordinate with like-minded states, as part of a declaration of an energy emergency, to increase national energy resource production, again in defiance of the Biden regime, to ensure America retains some energy independence and ability to support our allies.

Similarly, our state government should do everything possible to assist farmers in the coming season to maximize crop yields, as there is the distinct possibility of a global food shortage.
